The rise in prices for furniture in Uzbekistan should slow down. Mirziyoyev provided new benefits to manufacturers
On February 10, the head of state signed a resolution “On additional measures to stimulate the production and export of furniture products.”
In accordance with the document, from February 1 of this year to January 1, 2024, the import of raw materials, spare parts, fittings and accessories used in the production of furniture will be subject to a zero customs duty rate.
In addition, from February 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024, when covering part of the costs of renting office, retail and warehouse premises abroad to entrepreneurs exporting finished furniture products, the standard area for non-residential premises will be increased from 100 square meters to 250 square meters.
When attracting foreign specialists, such as process engineers, paint masters and designers, by domestic enterprises, in whose annual revenue the share of earnings from the export of finished furniture products is at least 30 percent, 25 percent of the wages of these will be reimbursed from the funds of the Export Promotion Agency specialists, but in a part not exceeding 9 times the minimum wage.
At the same time, the costs of attracting foreign specialists from enterprises whose quarterly export volume exceeds $1 million are reimbursed based on the results of the quarter based on the submitted documents until the 10th day of the next month.
Another important point is that a modern secondary school will be created in the Kukonboy mahalla of the Furkat district of the Fergana region, specializing in such types of national crafts as wood carving, furniture making, gold embroidery and painting.
