The leading event of the furniture and woodworking industry in Uzbekistan is the 19th MebelExpo Uzbekistan 2023 International Exhibition for Production Technologies. Woodworking. Furniture and Accessories. The exposition will be deployed from April 12 to 14 at the new site - Ankhor Park in Tashkent.

The event is organised by Iteca Exhibitions International Exhibition Company and its partner ICA Eurasia Group.

Uzbekistan has the largest consumer market in the Central Asian region with a population above 36 million people. The furniture and woodworking industries of the country are among the most dynamically developing sectors, which mainly involve small and medium-sized businesses.

Rapid construction of residential complexes, social infrastructure facilities, office buildings and business centers determine the high demand. Accordingly, the dynamics of the furniture and woodworking development is directly related to a number of factors - the population growth and, accordingly, growth of consumption, increased living standards, changing trends in the entire range of products - from kitchen to office furniture. All these impact the trends and pace of development of this industry. The purchasing power in Uzbekistan is growing and generates demand for the purchase of modern high-quality products. The domestic furniture makers closely monitor and successfully implement the latest achievements in production technology. A range of manufactured products has significantly expanded, quality and design have improved in accordance with the global trends. To date, around 90% of the total market capacity is satisfied by domestic furniture. There are more than 5,000 companies manufacturing furniture, materials, components, as well as woodworking enterprises in the country, more than 300,000 people are employed in the industry. Over the last decade, a range of manufactured products has significantly expanded, quality and design have improved in accordance with the global trends, import volumes are increasing.

To facilitate further growth of the domestic furniture manufacture and reduce costs, enhance competitiveness of domestic products the country`s leadership adopted a Resolution on February 10, 2023 "On additional measures to stimulate production and export of furniture products", according to which from February 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024, the import of raw materials, spare parts, fittings and accessories used in the furniture manufacture is subject to a zero customs duty rate.

Since its foundation, MebelExpo Uzbekistan has been the key international exhibition event of the industry. The exhibition provides domestic manufacturers with direct and quick access to modern technologies, raw materials and components without leaving the country, and for the companies focused on developing sales in the local market, it provides a meeting venue with the main market players: manufacturers and distributors.

The exhibition will traditionally host manufacturers of finished furniture, suppliers of equipment, component materials, furniture chemicals, fittings, accessories and much more.

This year, as many as 122 companies and brands from 19 countries have confirmed their participation in MebelExpo Uzbekistan: Austria, Republic of Belarus, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkiye, Uzbekistan.

Many exhibitors are widely recognised by industry professionals and take the key positions in the market.

The section of woodworking technologies, equipment and tools is traditionally and widely represented at the exhibition. The industry leaders such as ARHAR ENGINEERING (Slovenia), SCM GROUP, BIESSE, FIMAL (Italy), FELDER GROUP (Austria), LEUCO, NESTRO (Germany), STANKI-KDT, SPETSTEHUNIVERSAL (Russia) and others will demonstrate their equipment and tools. The European flagships in the construction of woodworking plants around the world from Germany - SIEMPELKAMP, WEINIG, VECOPLAN - will debut in this section.

In this sector, the companies will present furniture fittings and accessories, furniture foam rubber, plate and edge products, films and decors for surface decoration, artificial stone for tabletops, furniture facades, HPL plastics and much more.

They will present a wide range of upholstered and cabinet furniture, solid wood furniture, metal frame furniture and electrical goods: furniture for gardens, terrace, patio and lounge areas, cafes and restaurants, transformable furniture for home and camping, medical furniture, outdoor fitness equipment.
